PG 61    "Three chemicals structurally related to t-butylhydroquinone [TBHQ] (hydroquinone, butylated hydroxytoluene [BHT], and butylated hydroxyanisole [BHA]) were found to be carcinogenic to rats and/or mice. . . in utero exposure to butylated hydroxytoluene induced hepatocellular neoplasms in rats (Olsen et al., 1983). . . Butylated hydroxyanisole administered in feed at concentrations of up to 2 % for 2 years caused an increase in the incidence of squamous cell carcinoma of the forestomach in male and female F344 rats."
